Do you want to join a global team of experts and work under the guidance of professional engineers? Can you assist a highly professional team that provides consulting, project management, and design and construction engineering services on numerous complex bridge design projects? And are you able to work with limited to no supervision and as a part of a team located locally and remotely? Then, here is your chance to convert aspirations into actions.

Turn challenges into sustainable solutions

We are looking for a Bridge Intern to join our team. You will work closely with a team of experts working alongside our customers on some of North America's most significant projects. We do that by co-creating sustainable and beautiful solutions that improve the quality of life for people today and many generations ahead.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Assist in preparing design calculations, drawings, and cost estimates.

  • Apply design code clauses to engineering tasks assigned under supervision.

  • Attend project meetings and provide an update on assigned tasks and assist in preparing engineering reports and other technical documents along with being able to perform other responsibilities as required.

  • Perform inspections of bridges and other structures.

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future

The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you will:

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.

  • Be registered as an Engineer-in-Training in the home province or can obtain before employment.

  • Be conversant in the use of engineering software such as Excel to efficiently produce engineering calculations.

  • Have the ability and willingness to go on inspection trips that may have a duration of one week or more.

  • Preferably have the following skills: a familiarity with structural design codes like the CHBDC, proficiency in drafting software such as AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu, and competence in utilizing structural analysis software programs like SoFistik and CSiBridge.
