Carpenter – Industrial Projects


 


Perform heavy-duty, structural work that requires high precision, structural knowledge, and strict adherence to safety regulations. focus on concrete forming & placement, scaffolding, temporary site facilities set-up and structural maintenance. 


 


Key Roles & Responsibilities:



  • Concrete Formwork Construction: Building, erecting, and dismantling wooden or metal forms for heavy concrete foundations, pillars, beams, and slabs.

  • Structural Installation & Framing: Erecting structural frameworks, including floor beams, walls, roof trusses, and industrial door frames.

  • Maintenance & Repairs: Installing or repairing wooden or steel stud structures in industrial plants.

  • Layout and Precision Measurement: Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints to layout the project accurately using surveying tools, levels, and lasers.

  • Installing Fixtures: Installing heavy-duty fixtures, such as industrial doors, safety barriers, and specialized millwork. 

  • Structural Scaffolding Assembly: Experience with erection of Tube & clamp Scaffolding would be an asset.

  • Cladding of Structures: Experience with installation of cladding & flashing would be an asset.

  • Safety Adherence: Believe and follow safety protocols, including Lock-out/Tag-out procedures, proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and securing, working at heights.



Required Skills and Qualifications:



  • Experience- 4 plus years in trade.

  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read complex blueprints and technical documentation.



  • Mathematical Ability: Strong math skills for measuring and calculating angles and materials.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 100 lbs) and work in challenging environments (heights, tight spaces).

  • Tool Expertise: Proficiency with hand and power tools, such as saws, drills, and measuring devices.

  • Training & Certification: Journeyman Carpenter Ticket or Equivalent Experience.

  • Safety Certificates: Ontario Working at Heights, WHMS, 4 Step Safety Awareness, AWP Safe Operations.

  • Team Collaboration: Required to work along side and collaborate other trades on multi-disciplined projects.



Flights, Meal Allowance & Accommodations - may apply pending candidates’ main residence.


Shifts: 10.5 Hours Shifts (10 hours paid with 30 min unpaid meal break)


Shift Rotation: Six (6) days on and One (1) day off rotation for a minimum of


three (3) consecutive weeks, then you are eligible for seven


(7) to ten (10) days off. Those choosing to revoke days off, must


submit request form to the Human Resources department a


minimum of two (2) weeks prior to the beginning of their


scheduled time off.


Or


Twenty- one (21) days on followed by seven (7) to ten (10) days off.
