Staffing on behalf of our Client, we are seeking an
Intermediate
Civil/Geotechnical Field Engineer
with hands -on experience in deep
foundation projects (piles, caissons, drilled shafts, and anchors). The role
involves field supervision, construction inspection, and coordination with
multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently,
and in accordance with design specifications.


Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide
    on -site engineering support for deep foundation construction, including
    pile driving, drilled shafts, and ground improvement techniques.

  • Monitor
    and document field activities, including site observations, construction
    progress, and quality control measures.

  • Conduct
    site inspections and tests (e.g., soil sampling, cone penetration tests,
    dynamic pile testing, integrity tests).

  • Collaborate
    with design engineers to resolve field -related issues and propose
    practical solutions.

  • Prepare
    technical reports, as -built drawings, and field documentation for client
    submission.

  • Ensure
    compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and local
    regulations.

  • Assist
    in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.

  • Mentor
    junior engineers and field technicians as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s
    degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.

  • 3–7
    years of experience in geotechnical engineering or deep foundation
    construction projects.

  • Intermediate
    proficiency in field engineering tasks and construction supervision.

  • Experience
    with deep foundation methods: driven piles, drilled shafts, micropiles,
    and ground improvement.

  • Knowledge
    of relevant Canadian standards and regulations (e.g., CSA, Alberta
    Construction Codes).

  • Strong
    technical writing and reporting skills.

  • Excellent
    communication and teamwork skills.

  • Ability
    to work in outdoor and sometimes challenging site conditions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity
    with geotechnical software (PLAXIS, GeoStudio, LPILE, GRLWEAP).

  • Experience
    with instrumentation, monitoring, and load testing of foundations.

  • H&S
    certifications (e.g., WHMIS, H2S Alive, Fall Protection).
