Base Rate: $121,600.00 - $182,300.00 (salary band placement commensurate with experience)

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Director, Rehabilitative & Transitional Services, with accountability to the Program Chief & Medical Director, the Clinical Manager, is an integral member of the Program’s leadership team. This role has responsibility for a team at our Mississauga site located in Mississauga. The unit is transitioning from a 41-bed Rehab unit to an Acute unit and as such, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellence in operational effectiveness; patient-centered design; and has a passion for leading workplace transformation within an interprofessional setting. In particular, we are seeking a dynamic leader who has a demonstrated history of achieving results; leading complex change and who can think critically and strategically in a fast-paced environment. Further, the successful candidate consistently demonstrates our values of compassion, excellence and courage when leading the delivery of an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate and effectively manage resources within a newly developed acute care unit (e.g. financial, human, physical space, equipment and materials) in alignment with the Hospital’s strategic plan.
• Oversee the quality of care delivered by the interprofessional team in collaboration with the other leaders in the Program, and partners in Quality and Risk, Professional Practice and Human Resources.
• Accountable for patient flow and the effective management of patient transitions within and beyond the hospital.
• Recognize, assess and mitigate risks related to patient care and provider safety.
• Implement and monitor recommendations associated with patient safety incidents.
• Review, analyze and apply program performance data to support decision-making and continuous quality improvement. 
• Responsible for overall target of achieving results related to improving patient experience, improving measurable quality outcomes, financial stewardship and provider/staff joy in work.
• Manage all aspects of employee relations including human resource planning; recruitment, performance management; coaching/mentoring and professional development. 
• Manage unit specific aspects of patient relations including managing complaints, liaising with patient relations, communicating with patients and their families. 
• Actively lead components of and support the overall execution of the Program work plan.

Qualifications:

• Regulated Health Professional in Ontario; Baccalaureate degree required; Master’s degree preferred (e.g. Health Administration, Leadership, Quality).
• Minimum five years of formal leadership experience in clinical operations, preferably in hospital rehab setting. 
• Proven success in managing change and transforming workplace culture
• Ability to navigate ambiguity in a complex and fast-paced environment. 
• Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in fast paced healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated skills in financial management. 
• Experience in building and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement.
