Job Description - Community Engagement Officer

Forge Performance Group, in partnership with Revive Recruitment, is leading the search on behalf of the Missing Children Society of Canada (MCSC).

Community Engagement Officer

Missing Children Society of Canada (MCSC)
Remote-Flexible (Canada) (~35 hours/week)

About MCSC

The Missing Children Society of Canada (MCSC) is a national not-for-profit dedicated to reuniting missing children with their families. In collaboration with law enforcement, government, and community partners, MCSC delivers investigative support, family assistance, and public awareness initiatives during critical moments.

This is meaningful, mission-driven work — and every role contributes directly to that impact.

The Opportunity

MCSC is seeking a Community Engagement Officer to drive outreach, partnerships, and digital engagement initiatives across Canada. This role connects communities, technology, and public safety — supporting the growth of MCSC’s Rescu app and Missing Persons Search Network (MPSN).

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about community impact, skilled at building relationships across diverse groups, and motivated by purpose-driven work.

Key Responsibilities

Community Outreach & Engagement

  • Execute community engagement strategies aligned with program goals

  • Promote MCSC initiatives through events, campaigns, and digital outreach

  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers and community ambassadors

  • Represent MCSC at events, speaking engagements, and community forums

Partnership Development

  • Build relationships with police, Indigenous communities, social services, and partner organizations

  • Support inclusive, culturally sensitive engagement initiatives

  • Maintain stakeholder relationships and track engagement activity

Digital Engagement & Communications

  • Support social media, content creation, and digital campaigns

  • Ensure accessible and inclusive outreach across platforms

  • Monitor engagement metrics and adjust strategies accordingly

Program Support & Reporting

  • Contribute to program delivery, reporting, and engagement tracking

  • Support fundraising initiatives and grant-related activities

  • Prepare reports, briefing materials, and updates for leadership

Crisis & Coordination Support

  • Collaborate with partners during active situations when required

  • Support coordination with external agencies and stakeholders

Who You Are

  • Community-focused: Skilled at building trust across diverse communities

  • Mission-driven: Motivated by meaningful, impact-oriented work

  • Strong communicator: Confident in public speaking, writing, and digital engagement

  • Organized & accountable: Able to manage multiple priorities and track outcomes

  • Digitally savvy: Comfortable with social media, content creation, and engagement tools

  • Adaptable: Flexible to work occasional evenings/weekends for events

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or similar roles

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • Experience working with diverse and equity-deserving communities

  • Digital literacy (social media, content tools, online platforms)

  • Trauma-informed, culturally competent approach

  • Must be based in Canada

Assets:

  • Experience working with Indigenous communities, law enforcement, or government

  • Background in not-for-profit or public safety sectors

  • Bilingualism (English/French)

  • Experience with CRM tools or engagement tracking systems

  • Experience with grant writing or fundraising initiatives

Why Join MCSC?

MCSC is a lean, high-impact organization where your work directly contributes to public safety and community well-being. You’ll be part of a passionate, mission-driven team working at the front lines of community engagement and trust-building.
