The Role


 


As part of Cameco’s Community Relations program, we are seeking a full-time community relations liaison to work out of the community of Patuanak. This position’s primary responsibility will be to the English River First Nation. 


 


In this role, you will:


 



  • Support implementation of the English River First Nation Collaboration Agreement, focused on workforce and business development, community investment, community engagement and environmental stewardship.  

  • Deliver presentations to high school and post‑secondary students, maintain a skills database, support skill‑development strategies, and assist long‑term contractors with recruitment of local members and residents.

  • Liaise with Cameco mine sites, English River First Nation, including operation and community visits. 

  • Represent Cameco at Chief/council and community meetings. 

  • Answer inquiries related to the operations and coordinate logistical plans and provide Dene translations and emcee meetings as required. 


 


Required:  


 



  • grade 12 and two to three years of relevant experience; 

  • proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat; 

  • ability to speak Dene and English; 

  • team player with excellent communication and organizational skills; 

  • valid class 5 driver’s license; and

  • ability to travel frequently on short notice.


 


Recommended:


 



  • experience in the mining industry; 

  • excellent communication skills and digital literacy skills – Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Sharepoint, OneDrive, text, and social media; 

  • team player with excellent communication and organizational skills; 

  • ability to work independently, prioritize and complete tasks; and  

  • relationship builder and self-starter.
