Lead specialized rail operations in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment where safety, operational excellence, and rapid decision-making are critical. Shape operator performance, drive compliance, and support the essential work that keeps TTC's subway network running safely and efficiently.
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, the successful candidate will provide leadership and oversight for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of TTC's non-revenue subway work vehicles (workcars) across the network. Working in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and time-sensitive environment, the incumbent will monitor operator performance, identify training and development needs, and deliver coaching, on-the-job instruction, and refresher training to ensure the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.
The role is responsible for reviewing, developing, and enhancing operating procedures, inspection protocols, and safety guidelines, while providing technical expertise and operational support to Workcar Operators and other specialized equipment. The incumbent will also respond to operational issues, conduct investigations, prepare reports and recommendations, and play a critical role in promoting safe work practices and continuous improvement across subway maintenance operations.
