Job Description - DDC Technician/Systems Specialist - Saskatoon

DDC Technician/Systems Specialist - Saskatoon



Mikkelsen-Coward is a multi-discipline contractor providing Mechanical, Electrical, and DDC Controls services to clients in Manitoba and Saskatchewan.


We are currently seeking a DDC Technician – Systems Specialist to join our Controls Department, based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This position is located in Saskatoon and will report directly to the Controls Technical Manager at our Saskatchewan branch.



Qualifications:



  • Diploma or degree in Instrumentation Engineering Technology, or a related field.

  • Hands-on experience with control systems, including pneumatic and digital technologies.

  • Strong knowledge of communication protocols such as BACnet, Ethernet, IP, MS/TP, and Modbus.

  • Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting, problem-solving, installation, and instrument calibration.

  • Working knowledge of HVAC systems, including fans, pumps, and boilers.

  • Proficiency with computer applications, including industry-specific software and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.

  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Ability to successfully pass background and security checks.


Assets (Preferred Qualifications):



  • Experience with Delta Controls systems.

  • Experience in preventive building maintenance.

  • Familiarity with control systems such as Niagara and PLCs.

  • Experience with fire alarm systems and card access/security systems.

  • Experience in testing and commissioning low-voltage systems.

  • Experience with GCL (Global Control Language) programming and graphics design.

  • Willingness and ability to learn new systems and cross-train across different control platforms.
