You combine field credibility with strategic thinking and are comfortable influencing decisions at all levels of an organization. You can rapidly assess changing situations, adapt priorities, and lead teams through complex challenges while maintaining a strong focus on safety, operational performance and continuous improvement. You balance coaching with accountability and understand how to support project delivery without compromising safety.
Degree, diploma, certificate or equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety, environmental management, construction management, engineering or a related discipline; equivalent experience will be considered.
Ideally 10 or more years of HSE experience, including construction, field execution, contractor management, supervisory or project experience.
Experience supporting construction, fabrication, module yard, maintenance, turnaround, EPC, EPCM or industrial project environments.
Professional designation or certification is preferred, such as CRSP, CSP, NCSO, CHSC, NEBOSH, ISO 45001/14001 auditor training, or regional equivalent.
Strong knowledge of field risk management, contractor HSE management, control of work, incident investigation, assurance, emergency response, regulatory compliance and action closeout.
Canadian construction experience and familiarity with provincial occupational health and safety requirements, alcohol and drug standards, short service worker processes and client-controlled worksites are preferred.

Worley is seeking a practical, field-focused Deputy HSE Manager to support our Canada Construction business. This role acts as the second-in-command to the HSE Manager and helps translate HSE expectations into clear, disciplined execution across construction projects and active work fronts. You will work closely with project leaders, construction managers, supervisors, contractors and HSE Advisors to ensure work is planned, risks are understood, critical controls are verified, and teams have the support needed to deliver safely and effectively.
This role requires a strategic leader who can anticipate risk, influence project outcomes, build high-performing teams, and drive a proactive safety culture across multiple construction environments. The successful candidate will be agile, resilient, and motivated by continuous improvement, operational excellence, and visible field leadership.
Working Conditions:
Regular travel to construction sites, fabrication yards, module yards and client-controlled worksites will be required.
Work may include field-based assignments, rotational site support, office-based planning and project governance activities.
The role requires comfort working in active construction environments, including outdoor conditions, industrial worksites and areas with active equipment and simultaneous operations.
