Description

Midland Transport is currently seeking a Director, Data & Analytics in Moncton, NB. The Director, Data and Analytics is responsible for defining and executing Midland Transport's data, analytics, and AI strategy in support of the company's transformation agenda and business objectives. The role provides leadership across data architecture, analytics enablement, governance, and AI adoption while ensuring business decisions are supported by trusted, relevant, and actionable information. Working closely with business leaders, technology teams, and transformation program stakeholders, the Director translates strategic priorities into a measurable data and analytics roadmap focused on improving operational performance, productivity, customer experience, and financial outcomes. The role also serves as Midland's data governance champion, fostering data stewardship, capability development, and a culture of data-driven decision making across the organization.

Responsibilities

•    Develop and execute Midland Transport’s data and analytics strategy, aligning capabilities with business objectives, operational priorities, and transformation initiatives.
•    Translate strategic priorities into a multi-year data and analytics roadmap.
•    Provide leadership for data architecture, information management, analytics enablement, and governance across modernization programs.
•    Oversee the health, quality, accessibility, governance, adoption, and sustainability of Midland’s data ecosystem.
•    Align enterprise data and analytics capabilities with operational and business outcomes.
•    Identify and drive opportunities to improve operational performance, customer experience, productivity, and decision-making through data-driven insights.
•    Ensure common data models, governance standards, and analytics capabilities are embedded within technology and business solutions.
•    Champion data governance by promoting data ownership, stewardship, quality, and accountability across the organization.
•    Lead the development and evolution of analytics products, platforms, and AI-enabled capabilities to deliver scalable business value.
•    Partner with business leaders to identify, prioritize, and scale analytics and AI initiatives.
•    Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to analytics teams while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.



Qualifications

•    Post-secondary education (university, college, or equivalent combination of education and experience).
•    10+ years of progressive leadership experience in data, analytics, business intelligence, information management, or digital transformation.
•    Proven experience developing and executing data and analytics strategies and multi-year roadmaps aligned to business objectives.
•    Experience establishing and leading data governance frameworks, stewardship programs, and data quality initiatives.
•    Strong track record of delivering measurable business value through analytics, AI, and data-driven decision-making.
•    Experience leading cross-functional teams and partnering with business and technology stakeholders to drive results.
•    Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, manage change, and align diverse stakeholders around strategic priorities.
•    Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
•    Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO), or SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) certification considered an asset.
•    Microsoft certifications in Azure, Power BI, or related data and analytics technologies considered an asset.
