Position Overview
The Delivery Driver will be the leader on deliveries/pick-ups, and they will be the first and last point of contact for the customer while onsite. The delivery drivers’ main responsibility will be to drive the company vehicles while ensuring safe and consistent operation of those vehicles. They will also be required to assist with deliveries, setups, tear downs, unloading and loading of trucks, and any other general needs of the business. They are part of a team and work closely with operations and sales. Working to provide the “greatest rental experience” for our clients. Additionally, you embody and are accountable to our core values of camaraderie, professionalism, & service both at the warehouse and onsite. The ideal candidate must have experience driving a 5-ton, 24-26 ft box truck and have a valid Class 5 license.
Essential Job Functions
To ensure we are transporting all products to and from sites, providing excellent customer service, and living up to our company values.
Supporting Tenting and event installs/teardowns, deliveries/pickups, product maintenance, client order installations, packaging, cleaning, and all general labour requirements both at the warehouse or off-site.
Ability to work flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Adhering to the 5s warehouse principles of Sort, Standardize, set in order, Sustain and Shine.
Ensuring all product is being picked, loaded, dismantled, and returned to the warehouse in an organized and efficient manner.
Providing excellent customer service
Communication with the client before, during and prior to leaving the customer’s site.
Calling customers ahead of Deliveries and Pickups to notify of arrival expectations
Strive for 100% accuracy on loading orders onto the vehicles. Eliminating errors due to missing products for all deliveries/pick-ups.
Addressing and notifying the Operations Manager and sales team about any defects or breakage of inventory.
Maintaining vehicles operation and cleanliness, as well as communicating any known issues to be fixed or maintained in a timely manner.
Driving safely and securing all loads.
Education/Experience Requirements
Experience in operating all types of vehicles from pick-up trucks and vans to cube trucks and 5-ton Straight trucks.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as with minimal supervision.
