Job Description - Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Electro-Mechanical Assembler. Eaton\u0027s Calgary, Alberta site is a central hub for our electrical sector and is one of six Eaton Satellite locations across Canada. This strategic site is designed to support our larger manufacturing facilities and dedicated to meeting local market requirements, ensuring that we can effectively serve our customers. Here, you\u0027ll find key functions like Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Assembly Operations. This environment is not just about getting the job done but also about fostering employee professional growth and development.\n\nThe hours for this position are Monday to Thurs 7-4 and Friday 7-1\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nPRIMARY FUNCTION:\n\nReporting to the Production Supervisor, this position is responsible to have a thorough knowledge of all standard Panelboard, Control Product and some custom product assemblies and all related materials required to complete the assembly. \n \nThis role is located at one of our Eaton Satellite locations (6 in total), which are located across Canada and comprise of smaller assemble-to-order facilities and complement our medium to large manufacturing facilities within Canada. \n \n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\n\u2022 Work to standard operating procedures, bill of materials, manufacturing information, and instruction from Management or Engineering to established procedures \n\u2022 Responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly by conducting Inspection for conformance to drawings and specifications, functional operation and appearance and making mechanical adjustments as needed \n\u2022 Perform pack and ship duties \n\u2022 Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S \n\u2022 Assist team in achieving plant and department goals \n\u2022 Assist with on-the-job training and continuous improvement \n\u2022 Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton\u2019s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork \n \n\n## Qualifications:\n\nMinimum Qualifications: \n\u2022 Grade 12 diploma, GED or equivalent from an accredited institution is required. \n\u2022 No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 80 kilometers of Calgary, Alberta to be considered. \n\u2022 Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future. \n\n \n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 3 months experience working in a manufacturing environment \n \n\n## Skills:\n\nPosition Criteria: \n\u2022 Effective communication / interpersonal skills \n\u2022 Reading, comprehension and mathematical skills \n\u2022 Basic computer skills \n\u2022 Knowledge / experience with hand and power tools \n\u2022 Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision \n\u2022 Demonstrates continuous learning through cross training, learning new skills, refreshing prior skill \n\n## Additional Information:\n\nWorking Conditions: \n\u2022 Risk control measures and/or personal protective equipment must be utilized for laceration, pinch point, mechanical and other safety hazards. Please refer to the workstation risk assessment for the applicable control measures that must be utilized.\n\n\u2022 Environmental Conditions: Hand powered tools and other machinery may lead to excessive noise; employees must wear appropriate hearing protection as necessary\n\n Physical Demands:\n\n * Ergonomic stressors may include: \n * Heavy and awkward parts \n * Lifting, pushing or pulling components and parts over 23kgs (50 lbs) \n * Repetitive motion \n * Material handling\n * Long periods of standing\n * Employees are expected to utilize lifting aids, two man lifts and proper lifting techniques to ameliorate musculoskeletal disorders and other ergonomic hazards.\n\n\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for job applicants and employees.
