Your role as an ELIITE Java Developer

The WorkJam Application Support Development team is a growing, unique, dynamic group with plenty of energy, technical skills, and ideas. The role of Java Developer is to work with the application support (ELIITE) team to provide technical troubleshooting and solve complex problems for our customers around the world. You will be investigating problems and developing innovative solutions, interacting and consulting with team members companywide and supporting certain development operational (Cloud Ops) activities.

What you'll be doing:

• Support and maintain the back-end services that power our consumer-facing applications that deliver a seamless, rich experience within and amongst our product offerings whether on Web or Mobile Platforms. iOS, Android, Smartphone, Tablet.


• Support and enhance the foundations for a distributed Web application architecture, maintaining a high level of performance quality.


• Exemplify our standard for quality of application development with elegant, scalable, clean code.


• Collaborate with a team of experienced engineers and support professionals.


• Work collaboratively within the APAC team to continue driving world class customer experiences, and have fun doing so!

Working Hours & Location

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, you’ll be part of our APAC support team, working directly alongside our colleagues in Melbourne, Australia. This is a unique opportunity to bridge two thriving tech ecosystems across the Pacific all while calling one of the world’s most livable cities home. To align with our Melbourne team, your schedule follows two seasonal windows (Vancouver time): 

Summer schedule: 4:00 PM – 11:00 PM PT enjoy your mornings while the rest of the city is just waking up

Winter schedule: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM PT afternoons and evenings, leaving your mornings free If you thrive in the afternoon and evening, love the idea of owning your mornings whether that means hitting the ski slopes, exploring the trails, or simply savoring West Coast life before logging on this schedule was made for you.

What we're looking for: 

• BS Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent experience


• 5+ years of Java development experience within a professional software environment


• Applied knowledge of object-oriented programming and design


• Overall Java knowledge (core internals, threading, …)


• Knowledge of Javascript / React a plus


• Experience with PostgreSQL databases 


• Practical experience implementing RESTful web services using JSON.


• Worked within an Agile Development Methodology (Scrum) as well as Kanban


• Collaborative individual who works well in a team, or individual setting


• Problem solver and critical thinker


• Problem solver, critical thinker and customer focused
