We're looking for a motivated and detail-driven Estimator to join our Burlington, Ontario team! In this role, you'll prepare accurate project estimates for door repair and installation projects, collaborate directly with customers to understand their needs, and develop cost-effective solutions that drive results. Responsibilities
Develop accurate and customized project estimates for door repairs and installations.
Research material, labor, and equipment costs to support comprehensive cost estimates.
Interpret construction documents, specifications, and related trades for effective job estimation.
Collect and analyze pricing data to generate competitive cost/sell pricing.
Assess customer needs and communicate solutions effectively in direct sales interactions.
Provide timely and thorough follow-up with customers regarding quotes and bid outcomes.
Deliver accurate monthly sales forecasts to the Branch or General Manager.
Apply strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment to consistently achieve high performance.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support team and business objectives
Qualifications
Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Mechanical and technical aptitude with strong numerical skills
Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications
Capable of managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
Quick-thinking, self-confident, and able to work independently
Willingness and ability to learn ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
Experience Requirements
Must have 1 year of experience selling an engineered product or working in the construction industry
Valid Driver’s License required
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required
Work Environment
This position is primarily performed in an office environment. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required to evaluate project conditions, gather information, and support estimating activities. During site visits, employees may be exposed to construction environments, including moving equipment, varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and other typical job site conditions.
Physical Requirement
This position involves standard office activities such as sitting, typing, and using a computer. Occasional walking, bending, and travel to customer sites may be required. Employees may occasionally lift or carry files, samples, office supplies, or other materials. Team lifting is required for any item weighing 50 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to view electronic documents, drawings, and computer screens.
