The Event Support role ensures smooth and successful execution of on-site events at The Forks. By providing on the ground, hands on support, the Event Support will help deliver engaging, inclusive, and fun events, creating memorable experiences for the community, partners, and stakeholders. The Event Support will:

• Build and maintain positive relationships with visitors, community organizations, vendors, suppliers, contractors, and event proprietors.


• Collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure seamless setup, execution, and teardown of events, ensuring all needs are met.


• Occasionally serve as the on-site contact for events, including acting as host for events, coordinating equipment, space setup and teardown, serving as liaison between partners and internal departments, and resolving issues as they arise. Some on-call shifts will also be required.


• Support the Event Services Manager with a wide range of tasks related to event execution. This includes administrative tasks, equipment setup, audio-visual system checks, and post-event cleanup.


• Support the Event Services Manager with management and maintenance of event equipment and storage unit plus all inventory.


• Provide feedback to the Event Services Manager, highlighting issues and suggesting improvements.


• Facilitate walk-throughs of The Forks event spaces with potential clients.

The Event Support is someone who:

• Has strong customer service skills, with a focus on hospitality and ensuring event organizers and their guests feel well taken care of.


• Is comfortable in fast-paced and changing environments and is adaptable when plans shift.


• Is highly organized with strong attention to detail and is able to manage multiple tasks or events simultaneously.


• Is a clear and kind communicator, both verbally and in writing.


• Is confident using basic programs within Microsoft Office, such as Word and Excel.


• Is physically capable of lifting and moving heavy equipment and supporting physical aspects of event setup and teardown.


• Is able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as required.


• Has experience supporting events, including setup, takedown, and onsite coordination (considered an asset).
