Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Part-time — 0.4 FTE)

Our Edmonton Care Centre team is a close-knit group of clinicians dedicated to this mission. We work collaboratively across disciplines, physicians, nurses, dietitians, and lab technicians, to empower corporate and Life Plus clients to reach their health goals through personalized fitness, prevention, and rehabilitation services.

As an Exercise Physiologist on our team, you'll conduct clinical fitness assessments, design personalized exercise programs, and partner with our multidisciplinary team to help clients navigate their health journeys. Your work directly impacts how our clients experience preventative health and achieve measurable improvements in their fitness and well-being.

What you'll do

Client-Facing Clinical Work (Core Responsibilities):

• Conduct personalized fitness evaluations and comprehensive kinesiology assessments (musculoskeletal, strength, and aerobic testing)


• Perform various aerobic fitness test protocols (VO2max, Bruce, Gerkins, modified Bruce, etc.)


• Deliver one-on-one and group fitness training sessions, with programs tailored to individual assessment results


• Provide clients with evidence-based exercise recommendations and lifestyle counseling based on their test results and health goals


• Confer professionally with physicians and clinical staff regarding abnormalities, assessment results, and recommended exercise modifications

Team Collaboration & Clinical Decision-Making:

• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, dietitians, nurses, and lab staff to ensure integrated client care and comprehensive health management


• Communicate assessment findings and clinical observations to the care team, contributing to client-centered treatment plans


• Make independent clinical decisions regarding exercise modifications and program adjustments based on client assessment and feedback

Clinic Support:

• Adhere to all established protocols for medical equipment use, cleaning, and sanitation standards


• Manage clinic-related administrative tasks, including ordering medical and gym supplies as needed


• Perform other clinic-related duties as required to support team operations

Qualifications

What you bring

Education & Certification:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics, Exercise Sciences, or Kinesiology (or equivalent professional qualification demonstrating equivalent knowledge and competencies)


• Current CPR/First Aid AED Certification


• Registration with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology (CSEP) as an Exercise Physiologist OR eligibility to obtain within 6 months of hire

Experience & Core Competencies:

• Demonstrated experience in clinical fitness assessment, exercise prescription, and lifestyle counseling


• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining the highest standards of client care


• Demonstrated ownership of client outcomes and commitment to proactively adjusting programs based on client assessment results and feedback


• Demonstrated sound clinical judgment and the ability to prioritize tasks affecting patient care


• Demonstrated ability to communicate assessment findings and clinical observations clearly to both healthcare professionals and clients


• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize time-sensitive clinical tasks

Great-to-Haves:

• Master's degree in Kinesiology


• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) charting systems


• Previous experience in a multidisciplinary clinical or rehabilitation setting


• Background in preventative health, corporate wellness, or health coaching


• Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development in exercise physiology
