Nova Scotia Health is seeking expressions of interest for the role of Department Head (DH) for Surgery in the Eastern Zone.
Reporting to the Zone Medical Executive Director, the Department Head is responsible for the medical leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight of the Department of Surgery across the Eastern Zone. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with administrative and physician leaders to support high-quality surgical services, effective physician engagement, workforce planning, quality improvement, and departmental performance.
The Department Head provides leadership to Surgery Site Leads across the zone and plays a key role in advancing a culture of accountability, professionalism, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
