Financing & Equipment Leasing Lawyer

5+ Years of Experience | Hybrid

Our client, an established full-service law firm, is seeking a lawyer with 5+ years of experience to join its financing and equipment leasing practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial financing and equipment leasing, along with some commercial real estate experience. Private securitization experience would be an asset.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced partner on financing and equipment leasing transactions, with some commercial real estate work. This hybrid role offers meaningful responsibility for transactions, direct client contact and the opportunity to develop a specialized commercial finance practice.

Key Responsibilities

  Advise clients on commercial financing, secured lending and equipment leasing transactions.

  
  


• 
  

  Draft, review and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, equipment leases and related commercial agreements.

  
  


• 
  

  Manage financing and leasing transactions from initial instructions through closing.

  
  


• 
  

  Conduct due diligence, review security searches and coordinate registrations and closing requirements.

  
  


• 
  

  Assist with commercial real estate matters, including real estate financing and related security documentation.

  
  


• 
  

  Support private securitization transactions, where applicable.

  
  


• 
  

  Work directly with clients, opposing counsel and other advisers to resolve issues and advance transactions.

  
  

Qualifications

• 
  

  5+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong background in commercial financing and equipment leasing.

  
  


• 
  

  Some commercial real estate experience.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong drafting and negotiation skills, including experience with financing, security and leasing documents.

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to manage transactions independently while collaborating with senior counsel.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and sound commercial judgment.

  
  


• 
  

  Excellent communication and client service skills.

  
  


• 
  

  Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

  
  


• 
  

  Private securitization experience would be a bonus.
