The YMCA of Greater Toronto is a charity offering opportunities for personal growth, community involvement and leadership. The Central Y Health & Fitness Centre is one of eleven full-service health and fitness centres in the Greater Toronto Area that provides a variety of health, fitness, recreation and community programs. What sets us apart from other gyms is our philosophy, Sweat For Good. Every time you help someone get a great workout, swim their first strokes, execute the perfect karate kick, or reach their full potential in any of our health-promoting programs, you’re helping them Sweat For Good: for the hope, dignity, positive change, diversity, and equality that our charity is spreading across the GTA. The Sweat For Good philosophy is at the heart of everything we do, from the way we embrace diversity and social inclusion, support full participation by all employees, and live our core values of caring, honesty, respect, inclusiveness, health, and responsibility every day.
Reporting to the Senior Director Adult Programs, the HF Programs Supervisor provides direct leadership to a team of staff and volunteers who must set up new members immediately into programs that are focused on the achievement of their personal health and wellness goals. A strong focus on Personal Training with smarts goals assigned will be a major part of the role. Using a CRM system, the Supervisor and department staff team finds and implements new and innovative ways to proactively monitor and act on member usage, facilitates personal goal achievement, regularly connects and communicates with all members to achieve their retention and engage in a relationship with them that is “member insightful”. Implementing our Member Insight Strategy and using our Membership Involvement Model, the Programs Supervisor identifies and executes initiatives to increase Membership on Roll, Retention, Satisfaction, and Philanthropic contributions in the membership areas.
The Supervisor ensures that all members of this leading edge team are proactive in their ability to stay abreast of leading trends in health, fitness and conditioning and demonstrate exceptional relationship building skills. The recruitment, development, certification, retention and deployment of a team of volunteers to work in this area are also a major focus of this department.
