Reporting to the Manager, Quality Improvement and Risk Management (QIRM), the Healthcare Security Team Lead is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Healthcare Security Officer (HSO) Program and contributes to the overall success and effectiveness of the program, specifically in regard to supporting patients and maintaining a safe environment for our community. The Healthcare Security Team Lead provides supervision to the Healthcare Security Officer team, provides additional ground support when required, and recommends and implements continuous process improvements while seeking to improve efficiency, quality and safety with support of the Manager. Under the direction of the Manager, QIRM, the incumbent supports advancing program initiatives, assists with incident investigations involving program employees, and contributes to maintaining administrative functions of the program. This position will be the lead trainer for the YHC Code White Response team and provide onsite training and support for YHC's personal safety response system (PSRS).
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
The successful applicant will have Standard First Aid with Level C CPR/AED, a valid Yukon Class 5 Driver’s License with a clear driving abstract, and the successful completion of Yukon Hospital’s Healthcare Officer Training (offered post-hire). A clean criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check, is required, along with a secondary school diploma or GED. The applicant must also be bondable. Experience in facilitating training/education and a minimum of 6 months supervisory experience are required. Coursework in Healthcare Security and trauma-informed care, as well as proficiency in languages other than English and French, would be considered assets. Additional experience in a healthcare setting, working with high-risk populations, and working from a trauma-informed perspective would also be considered assets. Familiarization with Yukon First Nations languages would be considered an asset.
