Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyperson

SMS Equipment is looking for a Heavy Equipment Technician residing in the Acheson area. If you're a journeyperson technician who takes pride in your work, solves problems with confidence, and thrives in a fast-paced environment—we want to hear from you.

Wage: $54.02 + premiums 
Location: Acheson, AB
Shift: 14x14

What You'll Do

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on construction equipment


• Perform overhauls, maintenance, and new equipment builds


• Troubleshoot issues using computerized and manual diagnostic tools


• Work independently in remote field settings, including adverse weather and confined spaces


• Follow safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in safe work practices


• Lift up to 50 lbs as required by the role

What You Bring

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification


• Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical aptitude


• Experience working with Komatsu equipment is an asset


• Interprovincial Red Seal certification is an asset


• Valid Class 5 driver’s license and willingness to travel


• Self-motivated and safety-focused with experience working independently in field conditions
