Position Overview

Reporting to the site HR Manager, WRHA Corporate and Community Services, the Recruitment Officer is responsible for employee relations and the effective and timely recruitment of well-qualified candidates for the WRHA Community Home Care Program.


Experience


  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a unionized environment performing a broad range of administrative Human Resource functions including:  employee relations, labour relations and staffing. 


Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)


  • Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required.  

  • Certificate in Human Resource Management from a recognized post-secondary institution or enrollment and completion of the program within three (3) years from date of hire.

  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.  


 


SPECIAL TRAINING:



  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) required.  

  • Previous experience using SuccessFactors preferred.

  • Familiarity with SAP preferred. 

     


Certification/Licensure/Registration


  • Certificate in Human Resource Management.

  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills.  

  • Effective problem-solving skills, written communication skills and organizational skills are essential.  

  • Ability to act with initiative, judgment, tact and diplomacy essential.  

  • Must be able to learn and adapt quickly.

  • Ability to work effectively with various levels of staff, both internal and external to the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform independently and as a team member. 

  • Ability to maintain a high-level of confidentiality.

     


Physical Requirements


  • Work is primarily in an office environment.  

  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities and competing demands.


 



 


This term position may end earlier as outlined in your employee handbook.


 


This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.


 


Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, Prairie Crocus Manor, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
