Description

We are looking for a dynamic and strategic HR professional to lead and manage all human resources operations for our diverse business units, including a unionized sawmill, in the Southern NB Region and Truro NS. As a key member of the HR Leadership Team, you will play a vital role in driving our people strategy, ensuring alignment with our business goals and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.



Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the HR team, providing strategic direction and guidance.
  • Ensure policies, procedures and programs are effectively implemented and consistently applied to support business objectives.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand their needs and provide HR solutions.
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes, ensuring a talented and diverse workforce for the region.
  • Manage employee relations, including performance management, discipline and conflict resolution.
  • Guide employees on compensation and benefits programs, providing advice, answering inquiries and promoting understanding of available offerings and resources.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, promoting employee well-being and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align HR strategies with overall business goals.
  • Travel to Truro, Nove Scotia as required.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior HR management role, preferably in a manufacturing or forestry industry setting.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws and labor relations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in HRIS systems and data analysis.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing HR strategies.
  • Experience in talent acquisition, performance management and employee relations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
