We are currently seeking qualified Indirects Construction Coordinator to join our on-site Construction team, for a 2 to 3 month project, based out of a remote camp location near Fort MacKay, Alberta. This position offers the opportunity to participate in construction on the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System. The shift is planned to be 21 days on and 7 days off or 14 days on and 7 days off rotation, 10-hour days. Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Actively work as part of the construction management team
  • Support the Construction supervision with coordinating scaffold builds, modifications and maintenance.
  • Support subcontractor coordination (Scaffolding & Insulation)
  • Support in coordination of Client supplied contract services (Crane, NDE/ NDT)
  • Work with the construction team to author daily reports, LEMs and timesheets
  • Support the project team with coordinating onboarding, travel and flights of all project personnel
  • Support the Field Engineering and Quality Control Teams with technical documentation and material management
  • Work effectively with Project Planners, Schedulers, and Cost Controllers to support successful execution
  • Deliver projects safely, on time, on budget, and in accordance with execution plans and methodologies
  • Review plans, documentation, and reporting developed by third-party vendors
  • Ensure safety is integrated into all execution activities and maintain compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental regulations and internal policies
  • Maintain strong knowledge of LOTO and permitting processes to effectively support coordination of work
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in construction processes
  • Support the implementation of construction tools, systems, and best practices
  • Monitor contractor performance, including deliverables, progress, risks, issues, and RFIs
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson trade certification or technologist designation in one of the following disciplines:
    • Civil / Structural
    • Mechanical
    • Welding / Pipefitting
    • Electrical / Instrumentation
  • Strong knowledge of construction and commissioning, with an overall understanding of project management
  • 3–5 years of leadership or supervisory experience (technical supervision preferred)
  • 8–12 years of technical experience in a heavy industrial or process environment within a relevant discipline
  • Proven ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to meet project requirements and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle

As part of the recruitment process, successful clearance of applicable pre-employment checks is required which may include Criminal Background/Police Information check, Drug & Alcohol test, Reference checks as well as submittal of Provincial Driver’s Abstract. In addition, standard HSE certifications may be required including Fall Arrest, WHMIS, First Aid etc.
