One of our large clients is looking for a contract Infrastructure Specialist- Intermediate. Below are the role details:

Work Style: Hybrid - 3 day/week in-office – Tuesday and Thursdays are mandatory

Location city(s): Toronto, London, Winnipeg

Number of Openings: 1

Anticipated Start Date: 4 weeks from offer

End Date: 6 months from offer

Part-time or Full-time: Full-time

Potential convert to permanent: No

Contractor to work extra time or on-call – No

Billable working Hours: 7.5 Hrs/day







Role Profile:





Purpose

The Infrastructure & Release Specialist is responsible for the operational management, stability, maintenance, and release coordination of enterprise platforms that support client’s business, analytics, digital, and operational capabilities.

This role provides technical leadership for the administration, monitoring, deployment, and continuous improvement of data infrastructure environments. The incumbent ensures platform reliability, availability, security, and performance while coordinating infrastructure and application releases across development, testing, and production environments.

Working closely with Technology Delivery teams, Database Administrators, Cloud Engineering, Cyber Security, DevOps, this role enables the successful delivery of technology solutions while maintaining operational excellence and minimizing risk.

What You Will Do

 Data Platform Administration & Support



  • Manage and support enterprise data platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Maintain platform availability, capacity, performance, resilience, and operational health.

  • Monitor infrastructure, databases, middleware, and platform services to proactively identify issues.

  • Ensure production support processes and operational procedures are documented and maintained.

  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities.

 

Release Planning & Coordination



  • Develop and maintain enterprise release schedules and calendars.

  • Coordinate cross-functional release activities across multiple projects, programs, and technology teams.

  • Identify release dependencies, risks, constraints, and conflicts.

  • Facilitate release planning, readiness assessments, and deployment reviews.

  • Ensure all release milestones and deliverables are completed according to established timelines.

 

Release & Environment Management



  • Coordinate infrastructure and application releases across multiple environments.

  • Support deployment planning, scheduling, implementation, and validation activities.

  • Ensure release readiness requirements, approvals, and technical dependencies are addressed.

  • Execute platform deployment activities and infrastructure changes in accordance with established standards.

  • Develop, document, and test rollback and recovery procedures.

  • Support production implementation events and post-release validation activities.

 

Release Governance & Risk Management



  • Lead release governance activities in alignment with Technology Delivery and Change Management processes.

  • Ensure all release documentation, implementation plans, rollback plans, testing evidence, and approvals are complete.

  • Assess and manage release risks and remediation activities.

  • Ensure compliance with operational, regulatory, and cybersecurity standards.

 

Deployment & Production Readiness



  • Coordinate production deployments and release implementation activities.

  • Validate operational readiness, monitoring, support coverage, and incident management plans.

  • Ensure appropriate verification and validation activities are completed following deployment.

  • Manage release communications before, during, and after implementation.

  • Coordinate issue resolution and escalation during release windows.

 

Stakeholder Management



  • Build strong relationships across Technology, Operations, Product, and Business teams.

  • Provide release status updates and executive reporting.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for release-related communications.

  • Facilitate discussions among diverse stakeholders to resolve dependencies and delivery challenges.

 
What You Will Bring

Required Experience



  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, database, or data platform environments.
