Laundry Attendant

On behalf of our client, a well-established hotel in Kingston, we are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join the Housekeeping team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all hotel linens, towels, and other laundry items are cleaned, processed, and maintained to the highest standards. This role plays a vital part in supporting the hotel's daily operations by ensuring an adequate supply of fresh, well-presented linens for guest rooms, restaurants, banquet facilities, and other operational areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Sort, inspect, and process soiled linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items according to established procedures.


• Operate commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, and ironing or pressing equipment, safely and efficiently.


• Inspect cleaned items to ensure they meet the hotel's quality standards before distribution.


• Fold, press, organize, and prepare linens for storage and operational use.


• Identify stained or damaged items and follow the appropriate procedures for stain treatment, repair, or replacement.


• Maintain adequate stock levels of clean linens for guest rooms, restaurants, banquet operations, and public areas.


• Store linens and laundry supplies in an organized, clean, and secure manner.


• Assist with routine linen counts and inventory as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor.


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room, equipment, and surrounding work areas.


• Report damaged equipment, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards promptly.


• Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and infection prevention standards.


• Handle lost and found items in accordance with hotel policies.


• Support other Housekeeping operations when required, including assisting with room preparation or public area maintenance during peak operational periods.


• Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is an asset.


• Previous experience in a hotel laundry, commercial laundry facility, housekeeping, or a similar environment is preferred.


• Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment and linen care practices is an advantage.


• Basic understanding of fabric care, stain removal techniques, and laundry chemicals.


• Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks such as folding, sorting, lifting, and loading laundry.


• Ability to work in a warm, humid laundry environment while maintaining productivity and attention to detail.
