Driver Activities
Superior Customer Service. Rosewood Agrifoods International Cooperative Ltd. would not exist if we did not have customers. It is the primary responsibility of all employees to ensure customers are completely satisfied with our services. When placed in a compromising situation, contact a supervisor.
Responsible and Professional Behaviour. Being a professional driver means that Agrifoods International Cooperative Ltd has an expectation that all employees are to be professional, safe, responsible and appropriate in all situations. We expect all employees that are driving company vehicles to behave like the professional driver they are. You are responsible for your own behaviour on the road and inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. When placed in a compromising situation, contact a supervisor.
On-The-Job Performance. We each have multiple tasks to perform during on-duty time. It is your responsibility to ensure that the tasks assigned to your position are being completed and in a timely manner. (Examples include making sure reefer temperature settings are correct for the type of product being hauled; making sure reefer does not run out of fuel, etc.).

Knowledge
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
Knowledge of truck, equipment, and employee safety
Basic knowledge of MS Office and Excel
Supervisory experience an asset
Knowledge of industry and profession

The incumbent must maintain strict confidentiality in performing the duties of Lead Hand. The incumbent must also demonstrate the following personal attributes:

Education
The incumbent would normally attain the required knowledge and skills through completion of grade 12 educations and obtaining a class 1 driver’s license and completing an accredited driving program.
Working Conditions
Physical Demands
The Lead Hand will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers, which can cause muscle strain. The Lead Hand will also have to do some lifting of supplies and materials from time to time. Associated to driving climbing, lifting, pulling, sitting for long periods of time and managing awkward objects are required. While performing driving duties the lead hand will need to be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
Environmental Conditions
The incumbent is located in a busy, open office area. The incumbent is faced with constant interruptions and must meet with others. They must work outside in all weather conditions. The Lead Hand may encounter noise, vibration, poor weather conditions or heavy traffic that may cause physical stress for the driver. When on a customer’s property there may be icy, muddy, wet conditions in and around buildings. The Lead Hand receives a cell phone and may be required to be on call.
