Position Summary

The Bolter Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining underground bolting equipment while installing ground support systems in accordance with mine plans, safety procedures, and production targets. Successful candidates will have extensive experience with mechanized bolting equipment and a strong understanding of underground development mining practices. 

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a MacLean, Jumbo, or similar.


• Install split set bolts, resin rebars, screen, and other ground support systems.


• Read and interpret mine drawings, survey layouts, and bolt pattern specifications.


• Complete workplace inspections and identify ground control hazards.


• Perform pre-operational inspections and minor equipment maintenance.


• Monitor rock conditions and report safety concerns immediately.


• Maintain production and quality standards while following all safety requirements.


• Record operational information and communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members.


• Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and report mechanical concerns promptly.


• Participate in crew meetings, safety programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
