Job Description - Medical Advisor, Obesity and Liver Health (13-month contract)


The Position


The Medical Advisor is a Canadian therapeutic area expert, and assumes responsibility for co-leading and executing the fully integrated Canadian Brand Planning aligned with global strategy and the Therapeutic Area Director, Medical Affairs (TAD).  Develops strong relationships with national external experts in the field, and liaise directly with global and OPU medical leads.  


This job posting is for an existing vacant position. 


 


Responsibilities



  • Provide scientific review of files and concepts containing materials (including digital and promotional materials) submitted for the Docket Approval Process(DAP)

  • Co-lead Brand Planning and execution with Commercial colleagues.  Provide medical input into IBP/ICP strategies and executioj, including customer segmentation and tactical development. 

  • Implement key elements of IBP/ICP scientific objectives (including publication plan, local research plan,customer engagement plans, budget and grants). 

  • Distill customer insights from multiple data sources including customer response analytics to understand customer's engagement preferences and medical content needs. Provides input into multi-channel tactical development to deliver dynamic digital and traditional channel medical content.  Continually iterate and improve medical content and channel usage based upon understanding of customer feedback and evolving needs and tools.

  • Continually seeks to build medical/scientific knowledge and expertise through relationships with outside organizations, consultants, scientific experts and through learning the perspective and experience of the customer. Uses this knowledge to help ensure that BICL tactical plans and content are medically impactful with our customers.

  • Conduct literature research and analysis to interpret scientific data and evidence. Contributing insights and ideas that help translate to the needs for the therapeutic area and potentially to cross functional partners in the brand. 

  • Ensure collaborative and efficient cross functional interactions with internal stakeholders to drive the scientific objectives.
    Ensure ongoing interactions and collaboration with Medical Science Liasions (MSLs) and with Medical Education group.


This position is based in the Burlington, Ontario office located at 5180 South Service Road and is flexible.
Employees in flexible roles are required to be at the office a minimum of 50% of the time each month and must report to the office when requested and required by their Manager/Department.  


 


Requirements



  • PhD, MD, Pharm D, MSc. (may be considered with relevant experience in related health care field as appropriate.)

  • Professional attitude, initiative and excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work and collaborate within cross functional teams as well as with external experts and stakeholders; solid business acumen;working knowledge of digital customer engagement strategy

  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset

The salary range for this position is from $138,150 to $184,230.  Performance, relevant experience and competency in the role is a key factor in driving compensation decisions.
