Role Overview

This role focuses on designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise middleware and application hosting environments in cloud and hybrid platforms. The successful candidate will work on mission-critical and business applications accessed by internal users, external partners, and the public.

You will play a key role in building secure, scalable, and reliable hosting environments, supporting cloud migrations, and maintaining high operational standards aligned with strict government security and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud & Infrastructure Delivery

• Contribute to technical design of hosting environments
  


• Define and execute cloud migration strategies
  


• Build and deploy application systems into Azure environments
  


• Re-platform and modernize applications as required
  

Application Publishing & Networking

• Publish applications to Internet and Intranet using Azure Application Gateway and other proxy tools
  


• Design and deploy networking solutions using Azure VNets, NSGs, and related services
  


• Implement secure application access controls and identity management using Entra ID and Azure Policy
  


• Integrate solutions across platforms and environments
  

Operational Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide Tier 2/3 troubleshooting across infrastructure and application layers
  


• Support deployments, releases, and change management processes (CRQs)
  


• Manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
  


• Monitor system health using Azure Monitor and Application Insights
  


• Maintain and support Windows and Linux server environments
  


• Support databases, middleware components, and enterprise SaaS platforms
  

Security & Compliance

• Implement and manage infrastructure security policies
  


• Work with SSL/TLS certificates and PKI
  


• Monitor and respond to system-level security events
  


• Ensure compliance with operational and security standards
  

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing

• Create documentation and operational guides
  


• Support knowledge transfer and training for internal teams
  


• Contribute to service desk knowledge bases and internal documentation
  

Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS and PaaS)
  


• Expertise in deploying and managing .NET applications in cloud environments
  


• Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
  


• Proficiency with IIS (v10+) and application hosting
  


• Knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, firewalls, NSGs, proxies such as F5)
  


• Experience with scripting (PowerShell, shell scripting)
  


• Hands-on experience with Windows Server (2019+) and Linux (RedHat 8+)
  


• Familiarity with Azure security tools such as Microsoft Defender for Azure
  


• Experience with SQL Server and database support
  


• Monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Application Insights
  

Required Experience

• End-to-end application migration to cloud platforms
  


• Integration across multiple platforms and technologies
  


• Operational support in complex, multi-platform environments
  


• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  


• Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies
  


• ITIL-based operations experience (incident, change, monitoring)
