Job Description - Millwright

Maintenance Technician


• Maintain and repair all production equipment and machinery to minimise production down time.
This will include:
• Following a schedule of planned and preventative maintenance.
• Identifying areas of weakness within the machinery, or parts,
• Reporting usage of spare parts and for reordering in order to maintain an inventory of
replacement parts.
• Identify machine problems.
• Help maintain service and repair records on all machinery.
• Lock-out, dismantle, adjust, connect, secure, assemble and test machinery when required.
• Modify equipment or fabricate parts where none exist or are not readily available.
• Be present for boiler inspections. Perform water tests and adjust chemical usage as required.
• Ensure lock-out tag out, hot work, confined space, working at heights, etc. policies and procedures
are fully adhered to.
• Follow manufacture instructions, manuals, schematics, drawings etc. to perform repairs
effectively.
• Be available to be on call as part of a schedule.
• Work alone or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Be available for weekend work if required.
• Some travel to off site locations for maintenance and repairs.
• Any other duties that can reasonably be required.


Safe Operations


• Ensure that a worker works in the manner and with the protective devices, measures and
procedures.
• Advise a worker of the existence of any potential or actual danger to their health and or safety
• Ensure all health and safety inspections, forms and hot work permits are completed and returned
to the health and safety coordinator.
• Ensure all protective devices including guards are in place.
• Provide information, instruction and mentorship and supervision to a worker to protect the health
or safety of the worker.
• Ensure education and compliance with all Company Health and Safety Policies.
• Must have a strong sense of the need for a safe and healthy work environment.
Cleaning and Building Maintenance
• Lead by example and ensure the adherence to the company’s housekeeping practices.

Required Education and Qualifications


• Certified Red Seal Millwright
• 3 plus years of work experience
• A valid Class G license
• Clean driver’s Abstract & Background check
• Excellent general maintenance skills
• Experience with AutoCAD is an asset
• Bilingual in French and English would be an asset
• Ability and willingness to work in a dusty, warm, cold environment
