Mixer Operator (Afternoons & Nights)

Position: Mixer Operator

Shift Schedule: Afternoons (3pm - 11pm) and Nights (11pm - 7am)

Location: 122 Carrier Drive. Etobicoke, ON. M9W 5R1

Pay Rate: $20.50/hr

Responsibilities

• Scale all ingredients according to recipes. 
• Cut, weigh, scale, measure and place dough in bins/mixing bowls and move into fermentation area  
• Fill mixers with pre-measured ingredients in correct sequence.  
• Monitor and maintain the correct size, color and weight of various products as set out by our recipe specifications  
• Troubleshoot dough, adding ingredients to ensure the quality expectations are being met and taking into account the variables such as ingredients, temperature 
• Keep the area clean and put away utensils in the proper location after use. Adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies and procedures and have an understanding and respect for GMPs.  

Requirements

• Previous experience as a mixer in a food manufacturing / production setting is preferred
• A lover of bread and baked goods! 
• You have strong people skills—you’re approachable, a good listener, and empathetic   
• You have previously worked in a manufacturing environment (even better if it was food manufacturing!) 
• You have previous baking experience, and ideally some knowledge of SAP 
• You are comfortable lifting 30-50 pounds to move our ingredient packages and cases 
• Like working in a fast-paced environment, be self-reliant, and be energized by opportunities to learn and grow, and be a steward of your own career 
• Solid mathematical skills to help bring our recipes to life in the bakery 
• You’re dedicated to the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues  
• You digest constructive feedback as an opportunity to listen, and improve your skills, abilities, and performance
