BGC Okanagan is seeking an experienced and collaborative People and Culture Business Partner to join our team. This position provides strategic and practical People and Culture support to leaders and employees across the organization. The Business Partner builds strong relationships, understands operational needs, and supports leaders throughout the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to performance, employee relations, accommodation, development, and offboarding.

Key Duties and Responsibilities



  • Partner with leaders to understand workforce needs, staffing priorities, and employee engagement opportunities.

  • Provide advice and coaching on employee and labour relations, performance, attendance, conflict resolution, and policy application.

  • Support workplace reviews and investigations by gathering information, conducting interviews, maintaining documentation and preparing findings or recommendations.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, accommodations, leaves, and return-to-work processes.

  • Assist with workplace reviews, investigations, and performance or disciplinary matters.

  • Support learning and development, employee engagement, and organizational initiatives.

  • Provide guidance on People and Culture policies, collective agreements, and applicable legislation.

  • Maintain accurate HRMS and personnel records and support HUB reviews, SRATS and related HR processes.

  • Promote compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, WorkSafeBC requirements and agency practices.

  • Promote a safe, respectful, inclusive, and positive workplace.

  • Consult with the Manager, People and Culture on complex or high-risk matters.



Qualifications:



  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of progressive human resources experience, including experience advising leaders on employee relations and performance matters.

  • Experience working in a unionized environment and interpreting collective agreements.

  • Working knowledge of employment, human rights, privacy, and occupational health and safety legislation in British Columbia.

  • Experience supporting workplace investigations, accommodations, leaves and return-to-work processes.

  • CPHR designation, or progress toward the designation, is considered an asset

  • Class 5 Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle



Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday


Rate of Pay: $68,500 per year
