Reporting to the Program Manager of the Medical-Surgical and Cancer Care department within the Rehabilitation and Supportive Care Services portfolio, working specifically within the Pain Self Management Program, the Physiotherapist is a member of a clinical team and collaborates with colleagues to determine team goals and objectives, participates in the evaluation of team effectiveness, solves problems, and shares responsibilities. The physiotherapist assesses diagnoses and treats patients who present with actual or potential impairments, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, family members, and caregivers regarding health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and pain management. The Physiotherapist also delivers programming with other members of the Pain Self Management Program to patients who are living with chronic pain The physiotherapist provides supervision and evaluation of physiotherapy students, and supervision of physiotherapy assistants and aides.
