Job Description - Producer & Industry Relations (PIR) Representative (Western Canada) Perm, FT, Day

At least three years of experience working within the agricultural industry.


Have worked directly with poultry, egg, or other livestock producers in a relationship management, sales, or advisory capacity.


Have experience building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders such as producers, industry associations, or regulatory bodies.


You attended or represented an organization at industry meetings, conferences, trade shows, or producer events.


Able to travel frequently throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan for farm visits and industry meetings.


Have working knowledge of the Canadian egg or poultry industry.


Have been responsible for gathering and reporting market, industry, or competitive intelligence to leadership teams.


Have worked with agricultural organizations such as marketing boards, producer groups, feed companies, hatcheries, or equipment suppliers.


Have experience delivering presentations to producers, customers, industry groups, or other external stakeholders.


You hold a post-secondary diploma or degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Business, or a related field.

Position Title:  Producer & Industry Relations (PIR) Representative - Western Canada


Department:  Producer & Industry Relations


Reports to:   National Director, Producer & Industry Relations


Territory:  Western Canada


Direct Reports:  0


Replacement or New Role:  New


Term:  Permanent, Full-Time, Mon-Fri, Day


Work Mode:  Hybrid (2-day a week at office)


Salary Range:  $67,800-80,465


Bonus:  Yes


Travel:  Extensive travel throughout Alberta & Saskatchewan required

Key Responsibilities


Producer Relationship Management



  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with egg producers throughout Western Canada, primarily Alberta and Saskatchewan.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for producer inquiries, concerns, and opportunities.

  • Conduct regular farm visits to strengthen partnerships and maintain awareness of producer needs and challenges.

  • Facilitate effective communication between producers and internal company departments.

  • Support producer onboarding and integration activities as required.



Industry Relations and Stakeholder Engagement



  • Represent the company at industry meetings, conferences, trade shows, and producer events.

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with:

    • Provincial Egg Marketing Boards

    • Poultry and agricultural associations

    • Industry partners (primarily feed companies, equipment companies, & hatcheries)



  • Participate in industry committees and working groups as assigned.

  • Promote the company's reputation as a trusted industry partner and leader.



Supply and Procurement Support



  • Assist in maintaining a stable and sustainable supply of eggs to meet operational requirements.

  • Monitor regional producer developments, flock expansions, market trends, production challenges, and competitive activity.

  • Collaborate with operations, & distribution to address supply issues and opportunities.



Industry Intelligence and Market Awareness



  • Monitor industry developments, regulatory changes, animal welfare trends, sustainability initiatives, and emerging issues.

  • Gather and analyze market intelligence relevant to egg production and processing.

  • Provide regular reports and updates to company leadership regarding industry trends, risks, and opportunities.



Regulatory and Quality Support



  • Maintain awareness of federal and provincial regulations affecting egg production, grading, food safety, animal welfare, and transportation.

  • Support communication of regulatory changes to stakeholders as appropriate.



Communication and Advocacy



  • Develop and deliver presentations to producer groups and industry stakeholders.

  • Assist in preparing industry communications, reports, and educational materials.

  • Support company participation in industry advocacy initiatives.

  • Communicate company priorities and objectives clearly and professionally to external stakeholders.


 


Qualifications


Education



  • Post-secondary education in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Business, or a related field.


 


Experience



  • 3-5 years minimum experience in relationship management in the agricultural sector.

  • Experience working directly with poultry producers, agricultural stakeholders, or industry organizations.

  • Knowledge of the Canadian egg and poultry sectors is strongly preferred.

  • Experience in stakeholder relations, sales, business development, procurement, or agricultural extension is considered an asset.

Working Conditions



  • Frequent travel throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan, including rural and farming communities.

  • Regular farm visits and attendance at industry events.

  • Occasional evening and weekend work required.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel by air and vehicle.
