Product Owner, Enterprise Fraud

Enterprise Fraud is looking to hire a Product Owner to lead the development and management of innovative fraud detection solutions. You will be part of this exciting team collaborating with multiple stakeholders, Underwriting, Advance Analytics, Technology Solutions and Business Intelligence. You will play a critical role in helping drive innovative fraud prevention strategies and position Definity Insurance as a leader amongst our competitors and customers.

What to Expect 

• Develop and implement sophisticated fraud detection models and rules that enable monitoring and analysis of suspicious activities across insurance products and services.
• Collaborate with data scientists, software developers, and other stakeholders to enhance existing insurance fraud prevention software and develop new AI-driven solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in fraud detection technologies, coding languages, and AI algorithms specific to the insurance industry, and proactively recommend innovative approaches to mitigate emerging fraud risks.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and data protection standards in all insurance fraud detection and prevention activities.
• Drive sprint and release plans together with the Enterprise Fraud and analytics team, and own the Product backlog
• Drive user story prioritization based on business value and customer needs
• Interpret internal/external business challenges and the industry environment to recommend course of action and best practices to improve products, processes, or services
• Exercise strong decision making, owning product from discovery through market implementation and beyond
• Communicate difficult concepts; convert information into compelling business context and advice to influence and gain alignment among increasingly senior stakeholders
• Promote the product during key moments (e.g., internal events,) and supports enterprise fraud leadership 
• Embody a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, safety, and trust in the squad

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in a related field 
• Experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry, its related practices, and processes specifically Fraud prevention / investigation
• Experience in product development support based on expertise in Agile/Scrum processes, roles, and practices
• Knowledge of project management and agile lifecycle management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS project)
• Ability to drive the 'big picture' strategies while keeping an eye on details
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to influence and effectively negotiate with stakeholders; strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills
• Creative, innovative, and critical thinker with a genuine excitement for solving problems within the business

Nice to have:

• Previous Full cycle project leadership experience with direct accountability for executing projects in large and complex environments
• 5 years of project management with 3 years as a Product Owner
• Certified Scrum Product Owner Designation an asset
• Project Management or Agile Certification an asset
   

Salary range is $88,000 - $138,000
