Production Labourer - Day Shift

The Production Laborer will perform general duties in the different areas within the Production department, including safe overhead crane operation, assisting machine operators as required, housekeeping and material handling to maintain a safe and continuous flow of production.

Responsibilities

• Picking, stacking and storing material safely.


• Material handling and general housekeeping.


• Ensure correct material is stored in designated areas.


• Material packing and strapping material to skids for shipping.


• Cutting material accurately as required to required specifications. Accurate use of tape measure and calipers.


• Builds pallets and crates according to product specifications for shipping various materials and products safely.


• Safely uses and operates basic hand tools, for example angle grinders, drills, hammers, clamps.

Qualifications:

**A combination of education and experience will be considered.**

• Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, manufacturing principles


• Prior use and knowledge of measuring devices i.e. tape measures is a must.


• Experience operating a forklift or skid steer would be considered an asset.


• Basic computer skills


• Basic literacy and numeracy skills
