Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a full-time Production Supervisor.


 


Reporting to the Director of Production, the Production Supervisor must be an excellent communicator and work well within a team environment. You will be responsible for the delivery of customer orders, training, safety, continuous improvement initiatives and the development of your team. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team of people.


 




  • Plan and manage weekly build schedule while also looking out 3 – 6 months to ensure we have sufficient capacity to meet customer demand.


  • Work closely with the Production Coordinator to ensure customer orders are shipped on schedule.


  • Ensure that quality standards are consistently met. Identify problems, track trends in product failures, and report them to the Quality Manager. 


  • Work with engineering team to transition new products into production. Participate in design reviews and ensure that all processes are safe, stable, and well-documented in standard operating procedures.


  • Identify areas where equipment and fixtures need improvement, documentation needs updating, or staff require training.


  • Guide and mentor team members to meet production targets.


  • Ensure employees receive and maintain all necessary training related to safety, chemical handling, and the assembly processes that they perform. 


  • Ensure health and safety standards and procedures are always followed.


  • Hire, onboard, and manage ongoing staff performance development.


  • Coach, facilitate and participate in continuous improvement projects. 


  • Conduct daily stand-up team meetings and keep your crew motivated and engaged, ensuring a positive work environment. 


  • Continue to learn and implement Lean Manufacturing concepts including workplace organization, process mapping, and continuous improvement.


 


Required Skills and Experience




  • A proven track record managing people and process


  • Strong writing, communication, organization, and leadership skills


  • Self-motivated and willing to lead change


  • Ability to maintain confidentiality


  • Detail oriented and accurate record keeping


  • Fine motor skills including work under microscope



  • Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite


 


Education
Candidates are required to have completed a college diploma. Equivalent work experience and training may be considered.


 


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise




  • Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing


  • Experience using Atlassian JIRA/Confluence
