Description
The Project Specialist (Commercial Space Design) is responsible for working on and executing strategic business initiatives to quote, win and maintain large projects and US/Canada Contract business. This role is ideally suited to a candidate with experience in the office furniture or commercial interiors industry and a strong understanding of furniture design, space planning, or interior design principles.
This is a fixed-term contract position to provide coverage for a maternity leave.

Responsibilities:
Review large project bids and RFPs including government and private business in the Canadian and/or USA market.
Lead project kick-off and ongoing meetings with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to align on project requirements and provide regular status updates.
Understand the full scope of assigned projects and collaborate with the Sales and Design teams to develop competitive quoting strategies to maximize win rates
Collaborate with internal teams to develop bid submission, project deliverables, and design submission packages with high resolution renderings and specification details/call-outs.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure project quote and proposals meet specification requirements and engineering standards, while identifying value-engineering opportunities where appropriate.
Coordinate communication between internal teams and clients to establish deadlines and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct site visits as required to review on site concerns/issues related to awarded projects
Collect and analyze data on won and lost projects to identify trends, evaluate performance, and support future sales and project strategies
Requirements
Degree, Diploma, or Certificate from a post-secondary institution preferably in business, interior design, architecture, or a related field.
PMP certification is an asset.
Travel required. The successful candidate must have the ability to travel between Canada and USA without restrictions.
Proven abilities to:
Think critically and strategically.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with strong presentation and facilitation skills.
Read, interpret, and recreate documents, including drawings, floor plans, and written specifications.
Proficiently use AutoCAD (2D and 3D)
Proficiently use CET, Giza, 2020, and SIF software
Achieve results by making sound decisions and implementing necessary changes to meet project goals and objectives.
Build strong relationships and demonstrate commitment to meeting the expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.
Develop, maintain, and manage project plans.
Be organized and detail-oriented, able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently; able to create realistic schedules and meet deadlines under stress and interruptions.
Leverage available resources to solve problems, make informed decisions, and deliver results.
Foster collaboration among project team members by promoting a shared vision, aligned objectives, and a results-driven team environment.
Effectively manage conflict and facilitate resolution when required.
Demonstrate strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of the job.
Travel will be required (within Canada and/or the USA)
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
Able to conduct presentations and meetings.
Overtime as required.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $68,500 annually
