Job Summary:
CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB) provides health services in facilities located on the treaty territories and ancestral lands of the Anishinaabeg, Anishininewuk, Dakota Oyate, Denesuline, Nehethowuk, Ininiwak, Nêhiyawak Nations and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. Reporting to the Program Manager – Hope & Healing Program and with guidance from the Clinical Lead, Psychosocial Oncology Program, the Psychosocial Oncology Clinician II provides psychosocial consultation, clinical assessment, clinical intervention, and counselling services to adult and pediatric oncology patients and families at CancerCare Manitoba. This role has a particular focus on supporting patients who experience barriers to equitable access to cancer care.
The Psychosocial Oncology Clinician II provides culturally safe, trauma– and violence–informed care that recognizes and responds to the social, cultural, and structural factors that affect the health and wellbeing of people living with cancer. Working as part of the interdisciplinary oncology team, this role actively participates in departmental education and research programs and contributes to a welcoming, equitable, and culturally safe care environment at CancerCare Manitoba.
