Registered Nurse, RN-Pediatric Flight Nurse-CALIFORNIA

Seeking an EXPERIENCED PICU/NICU/Trauma ER/CTICU to work as a Flight RN in California

MUST HAVE 3 years RN experience in the NICU or PICU or Trauma ER or CTICU of a tertiary care hospital.

Flight nursing experience desirable-Will train RNs with 3+ years NICU, PICU, Trauma ER, CTICU experience into flight nursing.

Job Description:

• Conduct patient assessments
  


• Develop plan of care
  


• Implement and evaluate care according to age and developmental needs
  


• Continuously monitor patient and equipment
  


• Assess, implement and evaluate interventions
  


• Maintain in depth knowledge of relationship between patient and environment.
  


• Collaborate with other health care team members in the delivery of care
  


• Maintain a calm demeanour and assist in crises and emergencies
  


• Prioritize tasks for complex patient care
  

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Nursing
  


• Current VisaScreen in hand (apply at www.cgfns.org )
  


• Must have passed NCLEX-RN and be eligible for California RN license
  


• Must be eligible for RN licenses in Hawaii, Arizona and Nevada
  


• Absolute minimum of 3 yrs RN experience in PICU, NICU, Trauma Emergency, CTICU or combination of these
  


• Must maintain weight below 225 lbs
  


• Ability to pass initial and annual Agility Testing
  


• Ability to tolerate noisy, cramped environments (helicopter, airport, ambulance)
  


• Ability to lift 90lbs from floor to waist
  


• Able to sit, squat, stand, kneel for extended periods of time
  


• Ability to prioritize tasks for complex patient care
  

Required Certifications:

• BLS
  


• NRP
  


• TNCC
  


• ACLS
  


• PALS
  


• Must obtain Expanded Role procedures e.g. umbilical line insertion, Intubation, Needle Thorocostomy
  

Plus-Annual Training (provided) in:

• Aviation Operations
  


• Aircraft Operations
  


• Aircraft safety and emergency procedures
  


• Air medical resource management
  


• Survival training, Flight Physiology, Human Factors
  


• Critical Incident Stress Management
