About the Role:

As a Behavioural Support Coordinator, you will provide leadership and direct support to staff, residents, and families in addressing responsive behaviours through a person-centred, evidence-informed approach. This position plays a key role in enhancing the quality of life for residents with behavioural challenges by promoting safety, dignity, and meaningful engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support individualized behaviour management strategies using best-practice frameworks like P.I.E.C.E.S.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families to develop and implement holistic care plans.

• Provide coaching and mentorship to front-line staff.

• Conduct assessments and regular case reviews to identify risks and adapt care plans.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and represent Behavioural Support at committee meetings.

• Liaise with external partners and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

What You Bring:

• Current registration and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (RPN).

• Demonstrated experience and knowledge in dementia care, mental health, and behavioural support.

• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.

• Ability to respond to emergency and high-stress situations with professionalism.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing resident needs and scheduling requirements.

Requirements:

• Certification or specialized training in behavioural support (P.I.E.C.E.S., GPA, etc.) preferred.

• Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Record Check required.

• Physically able to perform medium-demand work (lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally).

• Commitment to ongoing learning and participation in staff development opportunities.
