This position has a term length of 1 year plus 1 day.

Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.

Position Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta is one of Canada’s leading academic health centres for pediatric specialty and subspecialty education and research. Working closely with the Stollery Children’s Hospital and community pediatrics in Northern Alberta, we are committed to meeting the unique needs of our community and providing exceptional care for infants, children, youth, and families. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Research Coordinator and Principal Investigator, the Research Assistant is responsible for providing project assistance and management while working on multiple industry and investigator initiated studies. The position will provide a range of research support services including participant recruitment; data collection, and regulatory support. 



Responsibilities
  • Under minimal supervision, review, become knowledgeable about and adhere to multiple research protocols.
  • Conduct daily aspects of research studies according to protocol:
    • Screen, recruit and enroll participants
    • Collect data via questionnaires and chart review
    • Perform accurate data entry
    • Prepare relevant supplies for study visits
  • Develop and maintain study binders and complete other administrative tasks as needed 


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, university degree in a science or health-related field is preferred
  • Experience with the University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services an asset
  • Computer proficiency using MS Office applications (Word, excel, outlook, powerpoint) preferred
  • Experience with RedCap an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
