The Consultant would provide the following support:
1. Responsibilities
o Provides holistic leadership across business analysis, project outcomes, and team of business analysts aligning their expertise with agile methodologies and ensuring effective collaboration.
o Interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their requirements through gathering, documenting, and analyzing business needs and requirements.
o Prepares and advises on business analysis policies, processes, best practices, and standards to promote a comprehensive and consistent business analysis practice.
o Fosters effective communication between the team, Product Owner, and stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of goals and requirements.
o Manage / groom product backlog based on user needs / prioritization input
o Single point of contact for business analysis, agile leadership, and team coordination minimizing communication gaps, reducing the risk of misinterpretation, and promote more effective project outcomes.
o Prepares training materials, training sessions on project delivery methodology in accordance with guidelines.
o Lead presentations / demonstrations of solution design and build for consultation group and stakeholders
o Create & review the user flows and user stories, and ensure they meet the overall product vision and consistency across features
o Support QA, UAT , Architecture, and Technical activities to facilitate quality and enterprise standards are met
o Support agile practices and encourage the improvement of service.
o Identify gaps and improvements for enhance process flows/customer experience journeys.
o Responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle working closely with product owner, including:
1. Gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements
2. Defining the product vision
3. Ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals
o Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
o Interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their requirements through gathering, documenting, and analyzing business needs and requirements.
o Monitors progress, resolves problems and reports regularly to management and stakeholders.
o Conduct discovery, cost benefit analysis and prototyping
o Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.
o Work closely with business and IT teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources.
o Identifies dependencies with other teams and determines how to manage those dependencies without impacting the progress of the team.
2. General Skills
o Knowledge and experience with Agile Information and Information Technology (I&IT) methods and techniques associated with the development and implementation of enterprise architecture frameworks.
o Communication, facilitation, negotiation, consensus building, and problem-solving skills
o Demonstrated commitment and proven ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships and navigate through organizational approvals.
o Knowledgeable and experience in Agile methodology and ability to educate others.
o Experience facilitating the relationships between the Agile team and product owner and maintaining a safe working environment for the team by helping with conflict resolution
o Experience leading the Agile methodology and development teams in self-organization and identifying and filling in blanks in the framework.
o Experience mentoring and coaching the teams on removing impediments.
o Experience capturing feedback and documenting sprint reviews to administer project goals and improve team performance.
o Leads and conducts business analysis to assess client's business problems/opportunities and documents the business requirements in such a way that I&IT solutions can be determined.
o Develops strategies, prepares business cases and cost-benefit analysis, and conducts feasibility studies for business I&IT initiatives.
o Experience leading requirements gathering, developing documentation, including presentations, and briefing notes and conducting stakeholder engagement.
o A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines, managing competing priorities and client relationship management experience.
3. Required Skills
o Project Methodology certifications such as Agile Coach, Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma Black/Green/Yellow Belt, etc.
o Knowledge of Ontario Public Service decision-making and project implementation processes is considered an asset.
