Role: The School Sport Program Instructor will be responsible for the customer experience, evaluation, leadership, organization, and planning of our school programs.
Reports to: Manager of Children’s Programs
Available Hours: Should have availability for Weekdays

What You’ll Do:
Customer Service Excellence:
Communicate all pertinent information (program changes, child behavior concerns, accidents and injuries) to the teacher of the participant in a positive and professional manner
Communicate and collaborate with co-workers to provide an engaging and well-organized program
Ensure concerns are brought forward to Children’s Program Manager in a timely, professional manner.
Evaluation
Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to assist with the improvement of school programs
Leadership
Be a spokesperson for MNP Community & Sport Centre and positively present yourself by leading participants in effective and well-planned classes
Supervise students through all parts of the program to ensure their safety
Respond to emergencies utilizing training and MNP Community & Sport Centre Policies and Procedures
Organizing and Planning
Develop quality programming for school programs in accordance with school objectives and themes.
Set-up and take-down of equipment, including cleaning when required.
Fill out accident/incident reports when required and submit them to the Children’s Program Manger immediately following the situation.
Be aware of any medical conditions within the school group through conversation with the teacher.
Respect and maintain equipment and supplies and encourage students to do the same.
Report losses or damages to the Children’s Program Manager.
Respond to email communications regarding instructor scheduling as soon as possible.
Training
Attending in-services, meetings and training as required.
What You’ll Need:
Education:
Program-specific training and experience
CPR C/AED (recertified within two years) and Standard First Aid (recertified within 2 years– required before employment can commence
Sport Specific Coaching Certifications is considered an asset.
Either in possession of or working towards attaining a degree – preference may be given to Physical Education, Human Kinetics or Kinesiology related programs.
Police Information Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Search
Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates with previous instructor experience.
Willingness to learn from other team members and pursue higher levels of certification is required.
High energy level with excellent organizational and time management skills
Must work effectively with all customers in a courteous, efficient and professional manner.
