We have an exciting opportunity in our Safety and Environment Department. We are currently hiring a Senior Advisor, Business Continuity and Resilience to join our Team!

What You Will Do

 


Reporting to the Manager, Business Continuity & Resilience, the Senior Advisor is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the TTC’s corporate business continuity and resilience program. The role provides specialized expertise and support to Groups and Departments in conducting business impact analyses, developing business continuity plans, facilitating exercises, and performing dependency analyses. The Senior Advisor also plays a key role in integrating business continuity activities with related disciplines—including emergency management, fire safety, enterprise risk management, and health, safety and environment—to strengthen enterprise and operational resilience across the organization.



 
Key responsibilities include:



  • Providing expert guidance in the development, maintenance, and completion of business impact analyses, business continuity plans, exercises, and recovery strategies.

  • Developing, maintaining, and implementing business continuity program policies, processes, and initiatives.

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to assess organizational risks, resilience challenges, and capabilities in alignment with TTC priorities, enterprise risk management frameworks, and risk appetite.

  • Presenting recommendations to Senior Management and participating in meetings to provide updates on program activities.

  • Building organizational support for business continuity initiatives through consultation with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Developing and delivering training and refresher sessions on business continuity policies, processes, systems, plans, and dependencies.

  • Preparing reports, updates, and documentation for Senior Management.

  • Providing input into emergency protocols, planning, and preparedness activities related to business continuity and enterprise resilience.

  • Developing job aids, training materials, and guidance documents.

  • Preparing business continuity communications for internal and external audiences.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?

 



  • Post secondary education in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Knowledge of business continuity standards (ISO 23001, CSA Z1600).

  • Experience developing and managing business continuity devlierables, including BIAs, continuity plans, and resilience strategies.

  • Working knowledge of enterprise risk management, emergency management, and health, safety, and environment.

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, presentation, and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to manage projects independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and problem solving abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs and build effective stakeholder relationships.

  • Proficiency with standard office software and business continuity platforms.

  • Certifications such as ABCP (Associate Business Continuity Professional), CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), CBCI (Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute) and similar Business Continuity/Risk Management/Emergency Management certifications are assets.

  • Experience with business continuity management software is an asset.

  • Manage program, projects and initiatives

  • Develop and update business continuity deliverables using office technology, software and applications
