BACx is seeking
a technically strong, client -focused Senior Commissioning Consultant to lead
and support commissioning projects across commercial, institutional, mission
critical, healthcare, residential, and public -sector facilities.

Position
Overview
The Senior
Commissioning Consultant will lead and support commissioning activities from
design through occupancy and beyond. The successful candidate will be expected
to manage multiple projects concurrently, while maintaining a high level of
technical quality, communication, and client service.
In addition to
project delivery, the role includes business development, proposal support, and
contributing to the growth of the commissioning practice.
Key
Responsibilities
Lead
commissioning projects through all phases of delivery
Prepare and
maintain commissioning plans, issues logs, test procedures, and reports
Conduct design and
submittal reviews for commissioned systems
Attend
construction sites to verify installation and system readiness
Witness
equipment start -up, TAB activities, and functional performance testing
Review
sequences of operation and assist with troubleshooting and system diagnostics
Coordinate with
Owners, consultants, contractors, TAB agencies, and operations staff
Prepare clear,
concise, and technically strong commissioning reports and documentation
Support
integrated systems testing and life safety verification activities
Assist with
proposal preparation, fee development, and scope definition
Identify and
support business development opportunities and client relationships
Support the
development of internal standards, procedures, and scalable commissioning tools
Mentor junior
commissioning staff and contribute to team growth
Participate in
industry organizations, technical presentations, and professional development
initiatives
Qualifications
& Experience
- P.Eng., C.E.T.,
or equivalent technical designation preferred
- Minimum 5+
years of building commissioning experience
- Must maintain
(or be actively pursuing) a commissioning designation through BCxA, ASHRAE, or
an equivalent recognized organization
- Strong
understanding of HVAC, BAS, electrical, plumbing, and integrated building
systems
- Experience with
functional performance testing and troubleshooting
- Experience with
new construction and/or existing building commissioning
- Excellent
written communication, reporting, and organizational skills
- Strong
presenter and public speaker
- Strong
understanding of CSA/BCxA/LEED/ASHRAE commissioning guidelines and industry
best practices
- Ability to work
independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Comfortable
attending active construction sites, mechanical rooms, rooftops, and restricted
access areas
- Valid driver’s
license and willingness to travel as required throughout Ontario and
occasionally beyond
- Working at
Heights certification (or willingness to obtain)

- The following

- CCP, BCxP, CEM,
CMVP, CBCP, or related certifications
- Commissioning
software experience (Bluerithm, CxAlloy, Facility Grid)
- LEED
Accreditation
- Energy auditing
experience
- Experience with
monitoring -based commissioning and building analytics platforms
- CAN/ULC -S1001
integrated systems testing experience
- Mission
critical, healthcare, laboratory, institutional, or residential high -rise
project experience
- Existing
relationships within the consulting, contractor, owner, or developer community
- WELL, Fitwel,
sustainability, or decarbonization experience
- Participation
in industry organizations, committees, or leadership roles
- Experience
across multiple building sectors and system typologies

Transparency
- The expected
compensation range for this role is $110 000 – $140 000 annually, depending on
experience, skills, and qualifications. You will also have health benefits.
