Senior Electrical Engineering Designer - Commercial (Tenant)

We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineering Designer with strong technical capabilities, communication skills, and a client-focused approach to join our Commercial (Tenant) team. This role is well suited to an Engineer-In-Training who is looking to take on greater technical responsibility and client exposure while continuing to develop toward professional licensure. We’re looking for someone who is technically curious, detail-oriented, comfortable working directly with clients, and motivated to take ownership of projects and deliver practical, high-quality electrical design solutions for commercial spaces.

You’ll be responsible for developing and coordinating electrical designs, preparing technical documentation, resolving design and construction issues, and carrying projects through to construction completion. You’ll work directly with clients and project stakeholders to understand project requirements, provide practical technical solutions, and help ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.

As a Senior Engineering Designer, you’ll have greater ownership of your assigned projects and deliverables, working with a high degree of independence while receiving support from experienced engineers and project leaders. You’ll also have opportunities to peer review work, support and mentor more junior team members, and contribute to the development of project standards and best practices.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Established and productive individual contributor.


• Prepares plans, designs, engineering calculations and cost estimates for more complex projects generally involving three or more drawings and multiple trades.


• Assesses design constructability and makes edits to existing design specifications with support and guidance from more senior engineers.


• Manages and prioritizes own project activities in order to meet project deadlines for all assigned tasks.


• Develops standards and reports with support and guidance from more senior engineers.


• Effectively applies tools and methodologies used for product and service delivery (e.g., AutoCAD, HHA Drawing Standards, Plotters, etc.).


• Gains exposure to creating project plans by helping Project Managers with entering the plan to the CRM.


• Ensures technical accuracy and competency of design details of a project.


• Accountable for all designs through to construction completion.


• Ensures timesheets, logs and files are accurate and up to date.


• Works independently with general supervision in solving problems.


• Other duties as required.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent). 


• 3-4 years of experience in engineering consulting within the building services industry.


• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for design and documentation.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.


• Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate, constructible design packages on schedule.


• A collaborative mindset, open to feedback and mentorship, with a commitment to continuous growth in technical and project delivery skills.


• Keen attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and compliance with codes and standards.

TOTAL REWARDS

The expected salary for this role is between $75,000 to $95,000 annually. Base salaries are determined considering several factors such as skills and competencies, experience, education, and internal and external competitiveness. Along with your base salary we offer a wide array of programs that include our Short Term Incentive bonus program, technical and business training, mentoring, wellness initiatives, the opportunity to participate in our coveted Defined Benefit Pension plan, flexible work arrangement, and hybrid work structure.
