Senior Rock Mechanics Laboratory Technician

Wood is currently seeking a fulltime permanent Senior Rock Mechanics Laboratory Technician to join our team in Burlington, ON.

As a senior rock mechanics laboratory technician, duties will include:

Key Responsibilities 

• Technical review of laboratory results and reports
• Conducting high-end, detailed rock mechanics testing including Post Peak Analysis
• Technical oversight of laboratory test performance
• Mentoring and development of the rock mechanics team
• Business Development and Client Management

• Previous laboratory hands-on experience with geo-materials 10+ years
• High proficiency in learning to use advanced technology
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Meticulous attention to detail – this work is used to design mines and mine infrastructure and the importance of proper execution of each task cannot be overstated.
• Conscientious, organized, self-motivated
• Willing to work extra hours, possibly on short notice, to meet strict project deadlines
• Geology/Earth Sciences College Diploma or Geological Engineering/Rock Mechanics degree and relevant work experience required
