We’re seeking a Senior Structural Engineer who brings deep technical expertise, strong project leadership, and a collaborative mindset to complex building projects. How you'll make a difference:
- Acting as a design engineer and project manager on a variety of building projects of various sizes and complexity
- Following through all phases of projects from concept design through construction
- Working closely with our integrated team of architects, interior designers, landscape architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as other partner firms
- Engaging with clients to explain proposals, and present engineering reports and findings
- Working with DIALOG’s specifications team to produce construction specifications
- Working with DIALOG’s structural technologists to prepare structural drawing packages
- Evaluating construction tenders
- Building relationships of trust with clients and other outside agencies
- Recruiting, mentoring and enabling the next generation of structural engineers. Coaching and reviewing the work of more junior team members
- Managing projects while working with limited supervision and participating in project planning
- Providing leadership for structural Contract Administration project activities. Including supervising and inspecting the installation, modification, testing and operation of structural design
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering is required, master’s degree is an asset
- Professional registration with Professional Engineers Ontario or another provincial engineering association
- 10+ years structural design of buildings experience
- Proven ability to lead the design of complex building structures across multiple material systems, including reinforced concrete, structural steel, mass timber, and masonry, selecting appropriate solutions based on project requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach junior team members, supporting their professional growth and development
- Working knowledge of Revit, with the ability to navigate models and perform basic tasks
- LEED, Green Globes, ENV SP (or other similar sustainability) certification is considered an asset
- An articulate and persuasive communicator that can convey complex technical concepts to non-technical firm leaders, staff and clients
- Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and multiple tasks/projects
